Alice or Captain Alice is a cartographer and founder of Mini Map-Makers.

She loves making all sorts of maps and telling everyone about them!

She has made over 1000 maps!

Jake is a Chief Navigator for a Seismic Company - he takes pictures of the seafloor and the rocks under the seafloor!  He studied Cartography with Alice and Mel in Oxford!

Mel is a Digital Cartographer and has made lots of maps, including maps of the London Olympics, for train travelers, for the Military, and also her running and biking friends! 

Our mission is to teach children and adults around the world about their local area, their country, and the world through the aid of maps.

As Mini Map-Makers Global is a CIC  (Community Interest Group) - 100% profits are put back into the company to build the amazing resources available!!

100% of donations go directly into creating amazing resources and getting them to the teachers, groups and children. 

Mini Map-Makers converted from a Limited company to a CIC in 2020...it was always a 'not for profit company' but this makes it official. 

All profits go into the company to produce resources and help spread the word about maps globally!

The CIC Status allows us to reach out to everyone in the community. We are hoping to link up with relevant international partners and to provide expertise and amazing resources for any child, wherever they are in the world!

Our amazing team of experienced cartographers have had very different work experience paths since they were together at university in 2001.

Alice has worked in Transport, Energy, Town Planning, and Education; Jake has been out to sea mapping the ocean floors and Mel has mapped the London Olympic Park and helped lots of outdoor pursuits with their mapping needs. We all have different map skills but all love maps and are passionate about sharing our skills with the next generation!

Mini Map-Makers Ltd was set up in 2016 when Alice's son asked her to teach about maps at his preschool.

Captain Alice and the Mini Map-Makers Crew were born.

She has taught OVER 12,000 children around the UK since 2017.

Then 2020 happened. So we needed to continue - but Alice needed help! So she asked Jake and Mel aboard and here we are...
